What is Unreal Tournament?

Unreal Tournament is a game made by Epic Games. It was also among the first 3D games to be released with its game engine. This means that developers who buy the game Unreal Tournament get a complimentary copy of the engine that powers hundreds of games. This is an incredible deal, considering that a $20-50 game comes with an engine that game companies have to pay $500,000 to license. Epic has also released the Unreal Development Kit, a free version of the Unreal Engine that anyone can use to make full games for noncommercial use. Unreal Tournament is just one game in a series of Unreal games, and each of them come with their own engine. Unreal Tournament 3 is the latest, and is accompanied by the Unreal Engine 3, a market-leading and award-winning tool.

What is this site?

This section of IceCreamYou.com is dedicated to using the Unreal Engine to create 3D virtual worlds (called "maps" or "levels"). It provides two major indexes of tutorials: one for Unreal Engine 2, and one for Unreal Engine 3. These tutorials should help any beginner with the Unreal Engine become an Unreal editing pro. If you're just visiting and aren't interested in creating 3D graphic art, check out the Community Bonus Pack (CBP3) website. CBP3 is a collaboration among the very best Unreal Engine designers in the world to create the highest-quality "maps" available, and it has won over 49 awards. (If you don't play UT3 either, CBP3 has pretty pictures.) IceCreamYou is the co-leader of the team, which hails from 12 countries across 4 continents.
