Description
This map is set in a futuresque alien landscape which was once volcanic, but has since cooled, creating a shallow
canyon. There, competing alien races built themselves bases - the red base is
slightly curse-like but naturalized, and the blue base is terrain-based and
surrounded by spiky plants. There is a lot of height variation in the canyon
between the bases, making for very exciting and more-or-less unprecedented gameplay. The map is entirely asymmetrical, but balanced,
although the blue team has a slight hitscan advantage and red has a
slight spam advantage. Translocators, lowgrav, quadjump, or a combination is strongly
recommended. The map features all standard deathmatch weapons, plus two 50
shields and one UDamage. Full Bot support included.

A few people have requested the map with its original theme. You can
still access the map at LeftAliveOld.zip but keep
in mind it was not carried past the last beta stage into Gold, so there may be
some rough edges. You can find a screenshot of the old theme
here.

Build Time: 11 months, on and (mostly) off
Known Bugs: The upright rock structure in the Red Base near the crate-stairs
isn't lighting correctly.
This map supports up to 30 players. Playing with 4-6 or 16-20
players is somewhat chaotic, but fun if you want something different. The map
supports these ranges reasonably well. Over 20 players is insane, and is really
too much. 8-10 is the recommended playercount but 6-14 is good too. 2 players
doesn't work very well. This map plays well with Instagib.
This map was tested with bots on all skill levels. Bots are
generally strong but they aren't programmed to use their translocator and
dodging possibilities to the extent that humans can.
